Funeral services for Glenn Golden will be held at 11:00 AM. Monday, March 29, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, Visitation will be held from 35 PM Sunday March 28, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home.
Glenn was born in Cass County, Texas to Taft Mildred Golden. He was the oldest of 13 children. He served in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborne and fought in Korea. He spent the majority of his life in the oilfield. Glenn was a gifted athlete and went to Paris Junior College in Paris, Texas on a football scholarship. He came to Odessa on school break to work for his Uncle Sam and never left. Glenn loved sports especially football and rodeo. He loved team roping. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents Taft Mildred Golden, brothers Yogi Golden, William Wesley Golden, Richard Golden, an infant daughter Debra and grandson Jonathon Wuensch.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years B.J. Golden, daughter Kimberley husband David Short, son Clay Golden wife Heather, daughter Lynn York husband, daughter Reba Huber husband Brent, daughter Carla Rivera husband Ruben, daughter Lisa Golden, sister Reba Perkins, sister Jean Duffey husband Willard, sister Kathleen Steed husband Kenneth, sister Joyce Black husband Richard, sister Johnnie Mae Chunn, brother Ronny Golden wife Anne, sister Sue McDaniel husband Doug, brother Stephen Golden wife Barbie, sister Tresa Bradley husband Charlie, motherinlaw, Billye Jones, Brothersinlaw, Ronnie DeVore and wife Sheila, Wayne DeVore and wife Darla and Phil DeVore and wife Darla 21 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and sistersin law Jerri, LeAnn Golden Betty Golden, and sonin law Tommy Davis.
