Gloria Horrell

Gloria June Horrell, age 77, entered Heaven's Gates on January 6, 2022.

She was born in Abilene, TX, to Barbara and Rex Trusler on January 16, 1944. Gloria married her love, Tom David Horrell on June 15, 1962, in Abilene, TX.

Gloria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a Defender, a Protector, and "Mama bear" to family and friends. She always smelled so wonderful, she loved perfume and wasn't bashful when she put it on. Gloria was a florist for many years and made the most beautiful flower arrangements, and loved helping family and friends with their weddings, baby showers, and Homecoming mums. Gloria was a great cook, and her enchiladas were the "bomb". She was always ready to help anyone in need. Gloria loved to meet and get to know people, no one was a stranger for long. Mom, you will forever be missed.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Barbara, and Rex Trusler; her husband of 50 years, Tom David Horrell; her son, Tom David Horrell ll; her brothers, Ray Trusler, and Dr. Carl Trusler; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy, and John A. Steele; sisters-in-law, Patsy Davis, and Gladys Horrell, and brothers- in -law, Donnie Horrell, and Harold Wilson.

Gloria is survived by her daughters, Barbara and her husband Wesley Lay, Laurie and her husband Red Anderson; her sons, Martin Horrell, and Chris Horrell; grandchildren, John, Clarissa, Cheyanne, and Christopher Anderson, Shannon Lay, Rae, and Thomas Horrell, and Nathan Horrell; as well as 7 great grandchildren, numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

The family of Gloria wishes to extend sincere thanks to Dr. S. Kubacak and Dr. T. Deaver for all the years of care, to Home Hospice, especially Lisa, Debbie, Amber, and Dr. Anna Francisco, and to MCH doctors and 4C nurses.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Hood officiating. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
