Gordon Alan Al Brunner passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008 in Odessa Regional Medical Center Hospital, with his family and loved ones surrounding him. One day short of his 59th birthday..
Al was born August 27, 1949 in Ravenna, Ohio to Margrieute Nelson and Floyd Fredrick Brunner. He came to Odessa in 1955. He owned and operated Precision Alignment. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corp, where he earned multiple medals. He then had two children, one son Chad in 1988 and one daughter, Emily in 1993.
Al is survived by a his two children Chad and Emily Brunner of Tyler, Texas; three sisters, Janice Pepper and husband John of California, Patti Wood of San Angelo and Debbie Homfeld and husband Ryki of Odessa, his eleven year companion, Ruby Billings, four nieces and nephews, and three great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Margrieute and Noris Nelson and his father, Floyd Frederick Brunner, one brother, Alfred Brunner and three uncles.
Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00 pm Friday, August 29, 2008 in Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:30 AM Saturday, August 30, 2008, with a military gun salute, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with Reverend Barry Reiswig, officiating.
The family requests memorials be made to the Permian Basin Vietnam Veteran Memorial, P.O.Box 2178, Midland, Texas 79702.
Funeral services are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
