Grace A. “Pat” Summers of Odessa, died at the Permian Basin Residential Care Center in Andrews, Texas, on Saturday December 3, 2022, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, December 12, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Arrangements are by sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Mrs. Summers was borna on November 25, 1929, in San Antonio, Texas, to Noah and Mary Lou Sparks. She was raised on the army bases in San Antonio and Brownsville, Texas. She met James Summers while in high school in Brownsville, Texas and they married on January 23, 1948. They moved to Odessa, Texas, in 1958. Mrs. Summers began working for ECISD school cafeteria in 1970. She worked at the Senior Center food program for the Ector County where she retired -as a director of the program.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Summers; her son, James E. Summers, Jr.; and granddaughter Tiffany K. Summers.
She is survived by her sons, Cary Summers and his wife Jacque of Rogersville, MO, and Drs. William Summers and wife Kathy of Andrews, Texas. She has five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and two nieces.
