Gregorio Valdez

Gregorio Acosta Valdez, 85, joined our Heavenly Father on October 2, 2021. Greg was born December 24, 1935 to Martin and Santos Valdez. Gregorio spent his younger years in Corpus Christi, Texas and later moved to Odessa, Texas where he worked in real estate and as a long-time groundskeeper at Ratliff Stadium. Greg took great pride in his work and enjoyed meeting the young athletes that came through and played on the Ratliff Stadium fields during his many years of service.

Greg adored his family, his 4 children, Ray, Sylvia, Norma and Carlos, equally loved their father. He had one granddaughter, Samantha Ramos of Odessa, TX who shared his birthday and he loved to let everyone know! Greg enjoyed spending quality time with both his daughter and grand-daughter and was always ready and willing to help in any way he could.

Gregorio is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Santos, his son, Carlos Valdez, his daughter, Norma Valdez and siblings, Felipe, Eloisa, Estefana, Maria, Luisa Maria, Martin, Jesus, Isaac, and Herminia.

He is survived by siblings David and Raquel of Corpus Christi, son, Ray Valdez and granddaughter, Samantha Ramos.

A visitation and rosary will be from 6 – 8 pm on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 in the chapel at Sunset Funeral Home. Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 10 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church with burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
