Hazel Dobbs

Hazel Dell Dobbs, born November 16th, 1927 in Barksdale, TX to Melvin S. and Thelma Sweeten OBryant, passed away on October 29th, 2011 in Albuquerque, NM.

Hazel married Robert Edger Dobbs Jr. in Mundy, TX on March 12th, 1946. Hazel and R.E. moved to Odessa in 1954 where they later owned and operated The Country Store for many years. Hazel Granny Dobbs was widely known and loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Sami Jo, her husband R.E., her daughter Robbie Jo Dobbs and her nephew, Joe Moreland.

Hazel is survived by her sister, Maleen Moreland and family her daughter Gerry Dean husband Bill Richardson of Albuquerque, NM her son Danny, a Vietnam Veteran of Marlin, TX her daughter Jackie Beth of Odessa, TX, her six grandchildren Jason wife Allyson Anne Richardson, Michael wife Keena Richardson, Allison Richardson, Brooke Richardson all of Odessa, TX, Shannon and Kristen Richardson of Albuquerque, NM and her ten greatgrandchildren, Megan, Brice, Sklya, Michelle, Autumn, Emylee, Zeke, Ariel, Irelyn, Daniel, and her greatgreat grandchild, Damian Michael.

Visitation with family will be at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 2nd from 68 p.m. Services for Hazel will be held at Greenfield Acres Baptist Church in Odessa, TX, on Thursday, November 3rd at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
