H. Helen Gotcher
Hazel Helen Gotcher, 68, died peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Hospice House in Odessa, TX. She was owner of Gotcher Cable Service, Inc.
Mrs. Gotcher was born December 26, 1940 in Wilton, Arkansas and moved to Odessa from Houston in 1979. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
A loving wife, mother, daughter, and Me-Me, she is survived by daughters and sons-in-laws, Cindy Smith and Ken of Midland, and Diane Eckel and Terry of Odessa, son and daughter-in-law Robert Gotcher and Vickie of Midland; brothers and sister-in-laws, Harlie Patterson and wife Myrna of Texarkana and Joe Smith and wife Melissa of Conroe; and sisters and brother-in-laws, Sue Griffith and husband William of El Paso, and Martie White and husband Bobby of Austin, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by grandchildren Ashley, Whitney, and Haley Smith; Joshua, Jennifer, and Jordan Gotcher; Justin , Jeremy, and Brittney Eckel and great-grandchildren Brayden Eckel and McKenna Smith.
The family would like to thank Larry Spires for his devotion and support towards Helen over these past years. We would also like to thank Larry and Diana Mitchell, owners of Country Acres for their kindness and care of Helen.
Mrs. Gotcher was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobby Gene Gotcher, her mother Irma Louise Bartlett, her brother Larry Patterson, and sister Debbie McCravy.
Visitation with the family will be 5:00-7:00 PM, Friday, January 9, 2008 in Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harlie Patterson and Rev. Bill Skaggs officiating, with interment following at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Odessa, Tx.
