Louise Pipkin, a resident of Odessa since 1943, passed away on Tuesday June 9, 2009 at the age of 90 in Lubbock at Covenant Medical Center.

Louise was born to E.E. Pat and Myrtle Christian Hagerty in Depew, Oklahoma on January 19, 1919. She graduated from High School in Wilson, Oklahoma where she was salutatorian. She married P.E. Bo Pipkin in Durant, Oklahoma and they were married for 49 years until his death in 1982. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters, Maureen Kramer of Oklahoma City and Doris Clowdus of Runaway Bay, and her grandson, Todd Pipkin.

She is survived by her daughter, Beth Rigby and husband Jay of Richardson, a son Kenneth Pipkin and wife Dianne of Plano and son James Pipkin and wife Phyllis of Lubbock, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Louise was active at First United Methodist Church having served on the Board of Trustees, and the Administrative Board. She had been a longtime volunteer with the Hospital Auxiliary and was an accomplished seamstress and avid bridge player.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel at First United Methodist Church in Odessa with Reverend Terry Tamplen officiating at 11 a.m., Friday June 12, 2009. Services will be under the direction of Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2009 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church.
