Heather Batte, 47, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with brain cancer, surrounded by the family she cherished so deeply.
Her battle with cancer was one of courage. Never complaining, never questioning, she faced her battle armed with her faith in Christ.
She was a sparkling light in every room, an unstoppable force of warmth and conversation-she never met a stranger and could turn any moment into a lively discussion. Heather had an immense love for books, especially English romance novels, always getting lost in their pages.
But nothing in this world mattered more to her than her children. They were her pride and joy, and she beamed with love and admiration for the remarkable young adults they have become. Her devotion extended to her parents and sister, speaking with them nearly every day, sharing in each other's lives through a deep bond filled with understanding, laughter, and love.
Heather's greatest love, though, was her husband, Brandon. Their story began in an airport on the way to Odessa, a chance meeting that changed everything. For 23 years, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. She was the love of his life, and he was hers.
Heather's kindness, joy, and boundless love leave an unfillable space in the lives of those who knew her. While her time here was far too short, her impact will be felt forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
Heather was born in Belleville, KS on July 12th, 1977. Heather is survived by her loving husband, Brandon, and their children, Nash, Brinley, Rory and Reese. Her in-laws, Duane and Toni Batte of Odessa. Her parents, Ron and Karen Nutz of Haddam, KS. Her grandmother O'leta Zenger of Haddam, KS. Her sister Amber Knoettgen, brother-in-law Grant Knoettgen, their children, Finley, Parker, Easton and Hayes of Clifton, KS. And many other uncles, aunts and cousins residing in Kansas.
A celebration of Heather's life will be held on March 27th, beginning at 2 pm at Odessa Country Club. In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to make a donation to a charity of your choice in Heather's name. For Heather's loved ones in Kansas, there will be a celebration of life at a date to be determined.
Heather's love, laughter, and nurturing spirit will never be forgotten. She was fearless.
