Helen Raye Davis, better known to all as “Granny”, entered into eternity on October 23, 2023, in Odessa, Texas.
Helen was born on July 1, 1940, to Johnnie and Joy King in Indio, California. Her family moved numerous times all across the country. Helen would graduate from Monahans Highschool in 1958. She went on to attend American Commercial Business College. After graduation, she worked as a legal administrative assistant for Tom Sneed, Tony Chavez, John Hoestenbach, and John Cunningham. Helen was an avid member of the Odessa Bridge Club for many years. She never turned down an opportunity to play card games or poker with family and friends. Helen always looked forward to her annual trips to Hobbs, NM and Las Vegas, NV. She enjoyed all the games at the casino while being surrounded by friends. She also looked forward to the Taylor Family reunion.
Helen met L.C. Davis, Jr, in Odessa, Texas and married on October 8, 1994. They were married for 29 wonderful years. They continually supported each other while having a fun and loving marriage.
Helen was a wife, mother, but most importantly to her, a grandmother. Granny took every chance she could to spend time with any of her grandchildren. She would attend all sporting events and cheer the loudest. Granny often took the kids to school, seldomly on time, then turned around for pickup and take them to L.C. “paw” to the station for a coke-a-cola. Granny held all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren near and dear to her heart.
