Helen Ruth Driggers

Helen Ruth Driggers, 78, of Odessa, TX passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024.

A memorial service will be held on December 7th, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Church of Christ on Billy Hext Road with Jon Crain officiating. John and Max Driggers (beloved brothers-in-law), and Travis Walker assisting with the service.

Ruth was born in Odessa, TX to Mack Gillham and Helen Louise Gideon on April 11, 1946. She graduated from Permian High School in 1964. She married the love of her life, Sid Driggers on July 7, 1967.

She worked in Human Resources for most of her career, but it was as a mother and grandmother that Ruth’s greatest legacy lives on. She found joy in life’s simple moments+, whether it was sharing a meal with loved ones, gardening, or spending quiet time with family and friends. Ruth created beautiful memories with her two grandsons, Ethan and Mason, taking them on “Grammy & Me” trips every year from the time they were very young. Ruth's compassion and genuine care for others touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Ruth is preceded in death by her father, mother, and two older brothers, Bill and Bob.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Sid Driggers. Ruth is also survived by her children, Toby Driggers, Cody Driggers and his wife, Heather; grandsons, Ethan and Mason Driggers; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth impacted the life of anyone who knew her, and she helped to bring many people to Christ.

The family of Ruth Driggers wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Home Hospice and the compassionate and attentive staff at Medical Center Hospital. Of special mention is Jolynn, Christy, Yvonne, and Dr. Huston. We are forever grateful to them for taking such good care of Ruth and supporting us through the time of transition.
