Helen Strawn

Helen Ward Strawn, age 87, of Odessa, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011 at her home in Odessa, Texas.

She was born August 17, 1923 in Horito, Arkansas to George Row Marrs and Ada Cooper Marrs. She graduated from Warren High School. She married J.B. Curly Ward who passed away in 1961. Later, she married William Bill Strawn, who passed away in 2000.

She was very spiritual and gave to charities. She loved pets and was a very loving mother and grandmother. She loved to travel and just go for a ride in the car. She was a beautiful person who gave more than she received. She loved her family most of all and devoted herself as such.

She was preceded in death by her soninlaw, Kenneth Baucom, and her daughterinlaw, Kathy Ward sister, Olita Terry and brothers, Floyd Marrs and Troy Marrs.

Survivors include her sister, Georgia Legrand of Arkansas brother, David Marrs of Arkansas her children, Clara Baucom Manson and husband Pete Manson of Odessa, Bob Ward of Odessa, Ben Strawn and wife Brandy Strawn of Odessa and Kay Strawn Lackey of Odessa Grandchildren, Mike Baucom, Steve Baucom, Tammy Baucom Savannah Lackey, Cindy Lewis, Jimmy Ward, Karen Ward, Zachary Lackey, Chris Strawn, Jeremiah Strawn, Max Strawn, Justin Strawn, Mia Strawn, and many great grandchildren her niece, Alice Jeffcoat and husband Sam of Fred, Texas and her sistersinlaw, Bonnie of Texarkana, Betty Mixson and husband Roger of Texarkana and Murtle Strawn of Hugh Springs, Arkansas.

Visitation with the family will be 68 PM Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Home. Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Robert Mixson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
