Helen Ruth Tisdale

Helen Ruth Tisdale left us peacefully on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the age of 90 in Midland, TX. 

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 28th, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa. Her grandson, Jonathan Horton of Grace Christian Fellowship, will be officiating.

Born on February 20, 1934, in Fort Worth, Texas, she attended Odessa College and North Texas State College. While attending Odessa High School she met the love of her life Barry Tisdale. Married for 62 years until his death in 2018, her life focused on an unwavering love and dedication to their family. Raising her children and creating a loving home was the foundation of her life. Helen was known for her love for others. She expressed that love by always ensuring those around her felt cared for and valued. It was Helen’s goal in life to make friends everywhere. She welcomed everyone with open arms, making them feel truly special. Her kindness, her smile and generosity left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Helen was reunited in Heaven with her husband, Barry; and her beloved son, Dan, who preceded her in death. Their reunion brings comfort to those who grieve her loss.

She is survived by her children, Mike Tisdale (Sandy), Mark Tisdale (Betty), and Jana Horton (Don). Helen was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren, Julie Brandenburg, Alli Beversdorf, Sarah Semer, Jonathan Horton, Jahdiel Caudle, Jeremy Horton, and Jay Tisdale. She also cherished her 12 great-grandchildren.
