Herbert Reynolds

On the evening of Friday, August 26, 2022, our beloved Herb Reynolds went to be with his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. He passed away at his home peacefully surrounded by his wife, children, grandchildren, and family members.

Herb Reynolds was born in Midland, TX, to Herman & Elizabeth Reynolds.  Herb & Dale moved to Odessa, TX, in 1958, and was a long-time resident of Ector County.  He enjoyed going to the lake, spending time with his family, boating, building hot rods, collecting guns, and Friday Night MOJO Football.

He graduated high school in Big Spring, TX.  He married the love of his life Johnnie Dale O’Keeffe on August 8, 1958, in San Angelo, TX.

He graduated from the IBEW Local 460.  He further proceeded to acquire his Master Electrical License as well as his Texas Electrical Contractor License.  In 1979, Herb & Dale Reynolds formed Renco Electric which is still in business today.  He was an active member of the electrical license board in the city of Odessa, TX.  Herb enjoyed square dancing and was an officer for many years of High Sky Squares.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman C. & Elizabeth A. Reynolds, and one brother, Jimmy S. Reynolds.

He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Dale Reynolds of the home; sons, Michael C. and wife Tamera Reynolds of Odessa, TX, Douglas B. and wife Jenna Reynolds of Odessa, TX; daughter, Deborah D. Reynolds of Odessa, TX; grandchildren, Ashley Reynolds of Lubbock, TX, Paige Hopson of Midland, TX, Makayla (Lala) Reynolds, Johnathan Reynolds, Tristan Reynolds and Jarrett Reynolds all of Odessa, TX; great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Jacob Gamboa of Lubbock, TX, and Easton and Colson Hopson of Midland, TX.

Pallbearers will be Michael Reynolds, Douglas Reynolds, Johnathan Reynolds, Tristan Reynolds, Chance Hopson, Brent Youell, Shane Davison, and Scott Vestal.  Honorary pallbearer is Jacob Gamboa.

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the dearest doctors & nurses of Medical Center Hospital and to Home Hospice.  Our sincere thanks to Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell for all the comfort he has extended to our family.
