Herschel “Don” Perry, age 85, of Lubbock, Texas passed away on February 18, 2022, in Lubbock.
Don was born April 21, 1936, to Ira and Ethel Perry in Abilene, Texas. He married the love of his life, Mary, on October 6, 1973, in Odessa, and they were together for 44 years. Don worked in the insurance and financial industry throughout his adult life, but his passion in life was making sure everyone had the joy God wants for us all. He was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church of Lubbock, Texas, and Chapel Hill Baptist Church, Odessa.
Don is preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents, Ira and Ethel; his son, Ira Don Perry; and his brother, Ira Doyle.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra and husband Clint Rollins of Amarillo; his son, Charles and wife Jacklyn Perry of Lubbock; his brother, Vernon and wife Patsy Perry of San Angelo; his grandkids, Jordan and husband Garrett Young of Lubbock, Matthew and wife Chanel Perry of Lubbock, and Misty and Jim Mann of Amarillo; his great grandkids, Alex, Bella, Greyson, Gavin, Gracelyn, and Jaxon; stepchildren, Jonny Deaver and wife Barbara and their children of Odessa, Brenda Dennard and children of Odessa, and Robin Cooke and children of Odessa; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home with Reverend Aubrey Jones officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are as follows: Jim Mann, Alex Mann, Garrett Young, Matthew Perry, Jonny Deaver, and Cal Mayfield.
