Howard Johnson

Howard Donnelly Johnson, 77, of Odessa, passed away August 10, 2012. He was born June 15, 1935 in Honey Grove, Texas to Fannie and Edgar Johnson. The family later moved to Ackerly, Texas.

He was a successful businessman in the automobile industry in West Texas for 40 years. He was salesman of the month for thirteen years in a row at a local automobile dealership. His career consisted of participation in the automobile industry in Big Spring and culminated in Odessa with Car CityWholesale Connection Howard was also a 32nd degree Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Survivors include three children of Odessa Shan Johnson son, and daughterin law Telene Kye Johnson son, and daughterin law Deborah Starla King stepdaughter sister Lyda Frances Mason, of League City and brother of Odessa, Stanton Johnson and his wife Ada Mary grandchildren Jaide Johnson of Odessa Tori Lange her husband Cody of Springtown Paul King and his wife Amanda King of Odessa one greatgranddaughter Ainsley Lange and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Swanson, Bob Simpkins, Paul Springer, Gary Porter, Jesse Sanchez and Howard Davis.

The family would like to extend thanks to the staff of Buena Vida for their care and compassion for the last five years, and thanks to Home Hospice for their support.

Visitation will be held from 68 p.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

Services will be held 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Crossroads Fellowship, 6901 E. State Highway 191, Odessa, TX. Internment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 6851 E. Highway 80, Odessa, TX.
