Hubert Mccomas

Hubert Leon Toby McComas , went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2010
at Hospice House in Odessa, Texas.

He was born April 28, 1926 in Whitesboro, Texas. He married Peggy Ann Carnes on February 6, 1950 in Reno , Nevada. He served 21 years of active duty in the U.S. Navy and saw action in both WWII and Korean War. He retired as a Senior Chief Petty Officer on November 1, 1975 and returned to his hometown of Odessa, Texas where he worked for 20 years with Rock Tool Company. An avid music lover, his passion was playing guitar and he played in various bands in this area. Tobys favorite past times were watching the Texas Rangers on TV and attending the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada with close friends.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Peggy McComas, daughters Linda Russell and husband Clifton of Odessa, Luann Ivy and husband Randy of Allen, Texas son Mike McComas of Dallas, Texas grandchildren Dana Grosenbacher and husband Dempsey of Boerne, Texas, Neely Waller and husband Eric of Odessa, Jennifer and Jessica McComas of San Diego,California, Patrick and Matthew McComas of Vacaville California and Lacey Ivy of Plano, Texas great grandchildren Michael, Bryce Katie Wallace of Odessa, Texas, Kaden Grosenbacher of Boerne, Texas, and Conner McComas of Vacaville, Calfornia brother R.H. Tuffy Overturff of Odessa, and Wanda Yates of Lovington, N.M. and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Isaac Mason McComas and Della Lou Norman McComas, brothers Seaburn McComas, Homer McComas, Isaac McComas Jr. and sister Violet Brown.

Visitation will be 57 P.M. , Tuesday , July 13, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home, Services will be held 2:00 P.M. , Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Northside Baptist Church with Clydel Chapman officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
