Irece Jordan, age 67, of Midland, TX, passed away peacefully Friday, February 26, 2016 in Midland.
A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 6801 E. Business 20, Odessa, 79762, where other family members reside.
Irece was a vibrant part of the Midland community for over 30 years. She served in the financial department of the Permian Basin Regional Planning Committee for 13 years, before becoming the Events Manager for the Midland Chamber of Commerce. She was then promoted to the Director of the Midland Center, and then Vice-President of the Midland Center before retiring in 2011. While running the Midland Convention Center she hosted civic leaders, politicians, the governor, celebrities, leaders in the oil and gas industry, and many other important events for the city of Midland. She received many honors during her distinguished service to the city of Midland, and her work ethic and contributions were widely acknowledged.
Irece was a tremendously talented person who loved to dance, sew, golf, gardening, motorcycling, and spending time with her family. One of her best qualities was her ability to become friends with people from all walks of life. She touched the lives of many people and will be greatly missed.
She was married to Michael Jordan, who retired from the Navy before his passing in 2011.
She is survived by her daughter, Staci Klapproth; her grandson, Evan; father, Milton Cardwell; brother, Mabry V. Cardwell and nieces Rachel and Raegan Cardwell.
