Jackie Sue Tripp Barnes, age 81, of Odessa, TX passed away on January 7, 2018 in Odessa.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 pm, Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, January 11, 2018 at First Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. David Mindel and Reverend Dr. Joe Weaks officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Jackie was born February 19, 1936 to Tom Wilson Tripp and Floy Mae (Herring) Tripp in Odessa, TX. She married William Roy Barnes on March 21, 1982 in Odessa, TX. She was a 1953 graduate of Odessa High School and then attended the University of Oklahoma. Jackie worked for the Ector County District Clerk's office, beginning in high school and retiring after 49 years in 2002. She was an active member of First Christian Church, Pilot Club and Delta Gamma Sorority. Jackie received numerous awards including Community Stateman Award in Government. She also was a Liberty Bell Recipient.
Jackie Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Mae Tripp and her husband, William R. Barnes.
Jackie is survived by her children, Richard (Skeet) and his wife, Stephanie Glover, Robert (Pete) and his wife, Ann Glover, Bill and his wife, Geta Barnes, Mike and his wife, Diane Barnes, Patrick and his wife, Kelly Barnes, Stephanie and her husband, Woody Keith; grandchildren, Holly Glover, Julie and husband, Ross Lairson, Meshal and husband, Aiden Villa, Patrick Look, Courtney Look, Ashley and husband, Dustin Donahoe, Jennifer and husband, Oscar Marquez, Steve Barnes, Jeff and wife, Kalee Barnes, Jason Barnes, Eric Barnes, Scott Langford, April Langford, Randy Clement; great grandchildren, Hank Lairson, Annie Lairson, Matthew Deras, Shayne Marquez, Gabriel Marquez, Caden Look, Dakota Donahoe, Cayson Donahoe, Ella Donahoe, Kaleb Barnes, Kai Barnes, Nolan Barnes, Everson Clement, Royce Clement; sisters, Hazel and husband, Tom Pace, Barbie and husband, Vern Olson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers are Chris Olson, Mark Olson, Eric Olson, Ross Lairson, Dustin Donahoe, Woody Kupper, Oscar Marquez, Patrick Look, Matt Tolkheim, Steve Hirst, Ray Pace and Brandon Huff.
Memorials may be given to the Pilot Club of Odessa or St. Jude's Chiildren's Hospital.
