James Archie Brown, age 86, of Odessa passed away Saturday, May 19, 2012 in Odessa.
He was born April 9, 1926 in Laurel, MS where he was raised and educated. He worked for Halliburton Co. for 37 years and retired at age 57 as Division Accountant in Midland, TX. Archie became a partner in Friendly Computer Company in 1998 in Odessa, TX. He remained active in the business until his death.
Archie is preceded in death by his Father: Aubrey Murray Brown Sr. and his Mother: Mary Elise Allen Thomas also his Sisters: Marie Carlisle and Flora Hammond Brothers: Truman Brown, Murray Brown and Cotton Brown and Son: John Murray Brown.
Archie is survived by his wife May Bell Brown of Odessa Son: Jim A. Brown Jr. and wife Julie of Odessa Daughter: Martha Hammett and Barry Stoute of Odessa Brother: Bill Brown and wife Marie of Hobbs, NM Daughterinlaw: Melinda Brown of Midland Pop Paw is survived by his beloved Grandchildren: Shane and Jacelyn Chamlee of Coronado, CA Britany and Adam Richardson of Tyler, TX Melissa and Jerrod Pruitt of Whitehouse, TX Chris and Brittney Chamlee of Odessa Julie Turley of Odessa Jenica Turley of Odessa Alisha and Jeremy Hudmen of Midland Amy Brown of Odessa Janae Brown of China Spring, TX Morgan and Jon Ledsinger of Midland Chad Matlock of Midland GreatGrandchildren: Jordan Chamlee, Taylor Chamlee, Riley Chamlee, Emma Chamlee, Clayton Pruitt, Addison Pruitt, Mason Chamlee, Aubrey Chamlee, Dylan Richardson, and Braxtyn Ledsinger Great GreatGrandchild: Corey Scott Chamlee.
Pallbearers include Shane Chamlee, Chris Chamlee, Chad Matlock, Jerrod Pruitt, Jeremy Hudman, Jon Ledsinger and Adam Richardson. The Honorary Pallbearers are Methodist Mens Group and the Ushers of Asbury Methodist Church.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:007:00 P.M., Monday, May 21, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Asbury United Methodist Church with Ron Colwell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family requests memorials be directed to Hope Hospice of Odessa or Asbury United Methodist Church.
