James William Ayers, 84 of Torrance, CA passed away on February 8, 2018 in Odessa.
James Williams Ayers, "Grandpa" was born in Kansas City, MO to Althea Bartlett and Edward Ayers on April 11, 1933. He married the love of his life Helen Malinowski on July 7, 1958.
James worked for the City of Los Angeles in water treatment for 37 years and retired in 1989. James loved to travel the world. He enjoyed flying, hunting and fishing.
James served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955 as a Radio Repairman, where he earned his Mechanical Engineer degree while also being awarded "Expert" with the rifle, as he had a great shot.
James is preceded in death by his father Edward Ayers, brother Edward Ayers, mother Althea Bartlett Ayers, and his wife Helen who passed at Christmas in 2012, where he was never the same.
James is survived by his son Roger Quintal, daughters Cynthia Ayers and Joanna Wright; grandchildren Anthony Quintal, James Dipadua, Jason, Jeremy, and Joshua Wright and Candice Mumma, along with 13 great grandchildren.
