James Bickham, Jr.

James Franklin Bickham, Jr., age 84, passed to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.

He was born on December 4, 1925 in Eldorado, Arkansas to Ollie and James F. Bickham. He served in World War II as an Army private in the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart by a general who saw his heroic action. He married Betty D. Hunter on July 10, 1953 in Kilgore Texas. He was a member of University Park Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors are his wife, Betty of Odessa three sons, James F. Bickham, III and wife Anne of Midland, Terry Bickham and wife Ophelia and Larry Bickham and wife Susan of Odessa seven grandchildren, Sarah, John, Matthew, Claire, Jessica, Stacy and Leah great grandchildren, Jimmy, Emma, Tripp, Tatum and Mason.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday October 1, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Brother Wayne Maass officiating.
