James Jackson

December 5, 1925 — June 11, 2008


James M. Jackson 82 of Odessa, passed away to be with Our Lord and Cherished Loved Ones on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at Seabury Center.

Born in Baskin LA on December 5, 1925 to James and Mable Jackson he attended school to the 7th grade and worked as a farmer growing up. He joined the United States Navy where he served as an Armed Guard and Firefighter from 1944 1947 when he was Honorable Discharged. He was Baptist.

He married Nina Pauline Ware in Camdenton, MO on November 8, 1957.

Daddy worked in the Oilfield as a Roustabout and Crew Leader for Petro Construction and Lambert Construction for many years. He retired in the early 90s to spend time and care for his wife.

He is preceded in death by his wife Nina Pauline Jackson, sons; Marvin Jackson and Terry Jackson, parents; James and Mable Jackson and brother, J.W. Jack Jackson.

He is survived by sons; Calvin Jackson and wife Sherry, Eric Jackson and wife Jessica, daughter Rene Gardner and husband Jack, grandsons; Clint Barsch, Blake Jackson, and wife Stacy, Trinity Jackson, and Tyler Gardner all of Odessa, daughters; Reba Fink and Nita Ware of Oklahoma, daughter-in-law; Tamera Jackson of Boerne TX, brother; Marion Jackson and wife Bonnie and sister; Juanita Jackson of Louisiana.

Visitation will be Friday June 13, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday June 14, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dave Adkins officiating. Interment will follow with military honors with VFW post 4372 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Freels, Clint Barsch, Blake Jackson, Trinity Jackson, William Fikes, Bill Barton, Tyler Gardner, and Joe Bostick.

Our family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Seabury Center, Terry and Gail you are Angels with invisible wings and Home Hospice for everything you do. We appreciate all of you.

Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
