James Marion McCain passed away peacefully on April 8, 2009 at Hospice House with his family by his side.

James was born August 6, 1931 in Littlefield, Texas to Marion Pattillo and Delores McCain. He served in the Army Air Corps for 2 years, followed by 7 years of service in the Air Force where he obtained the rank of Master Sergeant. He served his country proudly.

James married Katherine Janet Black of Muleshoe, Texas on February 2, 1952, and they had four children together.

While operating James McCain and Sons Framing Company, he helped to build numerous homes in Odessa neighborhoods.

James was a lover of hunting and fishing, reading western novels, and bird watching. He volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America as a Cub Master and Scout Master, and remained registered with the scouting organization.

James is survived by his son Ralph Marion McCain and his wife Dahrl; son Allen McCain and his wife Tammy; son James Leland McCain and his wife Karen; daughter Renea McCain Tutt and her husband Carl; grandchildren Amber Lynn Pearce, Keiva Hill McCain Wiese, April Leann Wright, James Chase McCain, Sarah Kay Ritchie, Lyndal Reese McCain, Marissa Dawn McCain King, Russell Lyndon Ritchie, and Michelle Fay McCain; and five great-grandchildren
