James Mitchell

James Duwain Mitchell, 73, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on June 18, 2014 in Midland, Texas.

Memorial services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, Odessa on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 4 p.m.

J.D. was born in Ballinger, Texas to James and Lucille Mitchell on July 12, 1940. He graduated from Andrews High School, retired from Texaco after 30 years, and continued his love of the oilfield as an independent drilling consultant.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lucille Mitchell.

He is survived by his six children, Debby Johnson, Tammy Pressly, Randy Mitchell, Jackie Mitchell, Shawn Brown and Dawn Finch with their spouses, and their mother Connie Mitchell fifteen grandchildren, six greatgrandchildren, and four siblings, Dudley Mitchell, Montrella Schiffbauer, Rodney Mitchell and Mark Mitchell, and his close companion, Rosanne Norwood.

The family of J.D. Mitchell wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Khavar Dar, the many nurses and doctors at Medical Center Hospital, Midland Memorial Hospital and Manor Park.
