James, fondly known as; Red, Welly, Jim, Red Bird and other nicknames, was born on October 7, 1939 to Clifford and Winnie White at Kermit Memorial Hospital and began his life in Wink, Texas. He graduated from Ector High School in Odessa in 1957. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Army. After his discharge he returned to Odessa where he met and married the love of his life, Sylvia.
Jim will be remembered for many of his wonderful attributes. He was a devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, son and friend. He enjoyed fishing at the lake, working in his shop and being with his family. He was a voracious reader who amassed a wealth of knowledge. He especially enjoyed history and genealogy. Just last month he became a published author penning “Our Love Story” based on the early years of marriage to his devoted wife.
Jim is preceded in death by his mother and father; his brother, Donald; and sister, Marilyn.
Red is survived by his wife, Sylvia; daughters, Charlotte and Mike Morgan and Kristi and Jeff Allbright; Grandchildren: Lori Morgan and Wesley Morgan; Collin and his wife, Heather Allbright, Aryn and Logan Goetsch, and Harrison Allbright. He also had four great granddaughters; Zoie, Mya, Brooklynn and Dallas.
He will be missed for his loving guidance, strong leadership and quick wit. We are comforted in knowing he is with our heavenly Lord. By the glorious grace of our God, we will be together soon.
