Janet was born a Texan in Dallas County to Bobby Gene Matherly and Anna Kristina (Sumrell) Matherly on March 9, 1967. She received her High School GED in Corpus Christi, TX and completed 2 years of college. She married Ted Libson on August 1, 1992 in Birmingham, Alabama. She worked as both a Child Photographer and managed at Kindercare Child Care before becoming a Homemaker in 1992 to support her husband as they moved from Huntsville, AL to Reston, VA then Seattle, WA then New Orleans, LA then Orlando, FL then Charleston, SC and back to Huntsville, AL. She led her husband to re-dedicate to Christ in 2005 and they attended Baptist Churches. She taught Ted that he could easily witness by simply wearing a T-shirt with a Christian message and to never be scared about walking into the darkness when you are a light, and over a decade ago they started a T-shirt ministry and also a Scripture Candy ministry. She mothered and worried about and mentored her siblings, was funny Aunt Nana as she loved on all her nieces/nephews, was a precious daughter that kidded around with her mom-in-law and stepmom and dad and stepdad, loved clowning with friends, and was God's Kingdom Servant to easily and graciously witness to a stranger or nurture a budding Christian. She was Ted's "go-to" Prayer Warrior who maintained their Daily Prayer List, and in spite of 30 years of major medical problems always remained a joyful Kingdom Kid that loved to play with both the young and the old around her, all the while worrying about "her Teddy" and continuously reminding Ted that with God it is always "Thy Will Be Done".
