Janice Wood

Janice Marie Wood passed away Friday, December 30, 2022, peacefully in her sleep at her home in Kingsland, TX.

She was born September 12, 1951, in Kermit, TX, to John Ruel and Joyce Lynne Otts of Odessa, TX, where she was raised and educated.  On January 8, 1971, she married Donald Kirk Wood in Albany, TX, Shackelford County. From 1976 to 2018 Janice owned and operated Janice Wood Daycare. She became known as Nana to all and loved by many children over the years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Joyce Otts.

Janice is survived by her husband, Donland Kirk Wood; her children, Leslie Escalante, Lindy Wood, Kristin Wood and Slade Braswell of Austin, TX; her older sister, Lynne Danley, and twin sister Jeanette Pulse of Midland, TX; her nephews and nieces, Mike Pulse, Shane Danley, Kim Hart and Gillian Herrera; her grandchildren, Bracken and Hayden Campbell, Jack Miess, Trinity and Jaxson Braswell.

The family will receive friends for viewing at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa, TX, on January 5, 2023, from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM. Funeral service is on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 1:00 PM, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Odessa, TX. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.

Pallbearers will be Slade Braswell, Michael Pulse, Shane Danley, Bracken Campbell, Hayden Campbell, Mike Miess.

Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
