Janis Davis of Odessa, 66 passed away peacefully from this life Thursday morning, June 16, 2011 at the Hospice House of Odessa. Janis fought poor health for the past few years of her life, and will be missed very much by her family and friends.
She was born March 5th, 1945 in Odessa to C.W. and Mavis Smith. Janis had the ability to do anything she wanted to in life. Her number one goal was to be a wife and a mother. That was a goal she fullfilled very well. Janis didnt meet many strangers. If she did, they were soon friends. That openness was due to her big heart. She was always looking for ways to help others. When her grandkids were born JanJan was quickly on the scene to make sure the first couple of weeks were easier on her children and other grandchildren. She definitely lived life to the fullest, and crammed as much fun as she could into her 66 years. Janis graduated from Permian High School in 1963. On November 2nd, 1990 Janis married her best friend and soul mate, Billy Harold Davis, the love of her life. They had known each other since they were four years old. When they married they combined their familes.
