Jason "Slim" Lee Lewis

Jason Lee Lewis, 49, of Odessa, TX, was called home on December 8, 2023, in his home with those close to him. 

Jason started his journey February 15, 1974, in Odessa, TX to Mark Lewis and Lynn Goolsby, where he was also raised.  Many knew him as “Slim” but only one got the privilege of calling him “Baby Cakes.” He married her, the love of his life, Stacy (Stucks) Lewis, June 3, 2006. Becoming “Dad” not once but twice was his greatest accomplishment.  Everything he did was for his family.  

In 2008, Jason “Slim” and Tony “Flare” Burnette started the Twin Cities chapter of Guardians of the Children.  Jason was never too busy, no matter how big or small the need. He lived out “Don’t let your silence drown out their cries” with the fullest passion in every aspect of his life.  This was most evident in the pride he showed and felt while watching his daughter dance and his son play baseball.

Jason Lewis is survived by his wife, Stacy Lewis of Odessa, TX; daughter, Jaycie Fleming and wife Courtney Fleming of Odessa, TX; son, Danny Lee Lewis of Odessa, TX; dad and mom, Mark and Wilma Lewis of Odessa, TX; mom, Lynn Goolsby and partner Karen Roeder of Hallsville, TX; sister, Mindy Villalobos of Odessa, TX; sister, Gina Jackson and husband Jason Jackson of Oklahoma; niece, Makayla Stanley; brothers in heart, Justin Townsley, Tony “Flare” Burnette, Bryan “Grumpy” Hardin, and Michael “Big Papa” Claude; and countless more family and friends that already miss him.

Honorable Pallbearers will be Justin Townsley, Tony “Flare” Burnette, Bryan “Grumpy” Hardin, and Micheal “Big Papa” Claude.

The family of Jason wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the family and friends who have been a support during this time.

A visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 6 to 8 pm.

Services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 1 pm officiated by Dean Williamson.
