Javan Clifton Cherry Pete 87 passed away Friday, July 2, 2010 at Hospice House in Odessa, TX. He was born on February 12, 1923 in Horatio Ark to Jerry and Ottie Cherry. He served in the US Army during World War II and he earned three Bronze Stars, Purple Heart and the Good Conduct medal.

He is survived by his wife Jeannette Cherry, children Randy Cherry and wife Mary of St. Paul Minnesota, Margaret Adcock and husband Earnest of Mississippi, Earl Cherry and wife Pam of Odessa, Mary Rudloff and husband Ronald of Odessa, brother Junior and sisters Melowene, Gwendolyn and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, greatgreat grandchildren and numerous loved ones.

Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, son Jessie Javan and daughter Elizabeth Carolyn Crownover.

Visitation will be Sunday, 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Monday at 3:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Chapel with Reverend Don Russell officiating.
