Jean Edna Hunt, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, was born September 22, 1916 in Scio, Ohio to Batell Hines and Edna Watson. She passed away May 11, 2012. Her family moved to Texas when she was six and then to Odessa, Texas in 1930, where she lived for 68 years before she moved to Plano to be near her family. Jean worked her way through McMurray University as an assistant to the President and received a B.A. in 1937. While at McMurray she met Julian Red Hunt who was the son of the University founder. After graduation they married and both worked in Odessa, she as an accountant and he as a pilot and airport manager. They had two daughters and she discontinued working outside the home to be a homemaker and work as a volunteer for various community projects.
Jean is survived by daughters, Marsha Jeanne Hachtel and Beverly Jane Hildebrand three grandchildren, Charlotte Bryant, Jeffrey Hachtel and Natalie Hildebrand great granddaughter, Madison Bryant and sister, Helen Joy Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Winford Hunt and one sister, Louise Henderson.
Visitation will be Friday, May 18, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home in Odessa. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
