Jean Winget

Jean Winget, age 80, passed away on July 15, 2018 in Odessa, TX.

Jean was born May 29, 1938 to Millard George Winget and Beatrice Viola (Rideout) Winget in Henderson, Kentucky. She graduated from Grandfalls High School in Grandfalls, TX. Jean married on June 6, 1957 in Grandfalls, TX. She worked as a hotel manager for Hans Schlunigger in Pecos, TX for 22 years.

Jean was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Best Western International of the year (2002), and the Rodeo Commission of Reeves, Co. She attended First Baptist Church.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Beatrice Winget; her husband, R.C. McLaren; her sister, Bettie Smith and her brother, Morris Turner.

She is survived her son, Steve McLaren and his wife, Pamela of Lamesa, TX, P.J; daughters, P.J. McLaren of Kent, Washington, Tracey Hall and her husband, Michael Hall of Odessa, TX; grandsons, Travis McLaren of Lamesa, Trevor McLaren and his wife Lauren of Lubbock, TX, Tayton McLaren and his wife, Becky of Allen, TX, Austin Hall of Odessa, TX, Justin Hall of Odessa, TX; granddaughters, Sherrell Washington and her husband, Aaron of Odessa, TX, Allison Hall and her husband, Logan of Odessa, TX, Cortney Weaver and her husband, John of Odessa, TX; great grandchildren, Aariell Washington of Odessa, TX, Jackson Washington of Odessa, TX, Brock Robinson of Odessa, TX, Emma McLaren of Lubbock, TX, Dallas McLaren of Lubbock, TX, Lacey McLaren of Lubbock, TX, Pyper McLaren of Allen, TX, and Kyler Fincher of Odessa, TX.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Monday, July 23, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dr. Kevin G. Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Travis McLaren, Trevor McLaren, Tayton McLaren, Austin Hall, Justin Hall and Aaron Washington. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Rogers, Logan Fincher and John Weaver.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jean's honor to St. Jude's Hospital.
