Jennie Golden

Jennie Lou Crossland Golden, 92, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Odessa Regional Medical Center.

Jennie was born on September 15, 1921 in Linden, TX to William Bill and Mamie Crossland. She married James E. Sam Golden July 20, 1941 in Hughes Spring, TX. James and Jennie had 9 children.

Jennie was most proud of her family she loved family tradition and all family gatherings Her greatest joy was the achievements and accomplishments in the lives of her family and friends she certainly never missed a chance to brag on her family. Her life story, her strength, her independence, as well as her unique way of sharing her wisdom will continue to influence those who knew her. Her generous heart filled her home with love, fun, family and friends, including an attitude that there was always room for one more. She leaves all her children and grandchildren with the knowledge that they were truly loved.

Jennie was preceded in death by her husband James E. Sam Golden, and son William Harold.

She is survived by her 8 remaining children: Donna Barry Hayes, James Mary Golden, Kenneth Janice Golden, Phillip Linda Golden, Freddy Pam Golden, Candace Rodney Wright, Anna Robert Williams, and Beverly Mike deceased Snelson, all residing in Odessa, TX., two sisters Pauline Elrod and Betty Smith.
Jennie also has 19 Grandchildren, 36 greatGrandchildren, and 15 greatgreat Grandchildren.

Visitation with family and friends will be Monday, May 26, 2014 from 6:008:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The funeral will be the following day, May 27, 2014 at 10 am at Sunset Memorial Gardens Chapel with Pastor Byron McWilliams, of First Baptist church, officiating.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Golden, David Golden, Jonathan Golden, Andy Moreno, Billy Snelson, Lance Wright, and Chris Golden Honorary

The Golden Family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Kalpana Prasad, Dr. Kim Nam, and the CCU nurses at ORMC that took care of Jennie.
