Batman's Obituary

Jeremy Lee Roberts, aka "Batman", 35 years of age, gained his long due Angel Wings, September 4, 2018 at his home.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, September 7, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at his home church, Odessa First Church of the Nazarene, Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 5:00 PM, with Reverend Andrew Arp and Reverend Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.

Jeremy was born November 26, 1982 to Larry and Paula Roberts in Odessa, TX. He graduated form Permian High School in 2001. He attended college at the University of Texas Permian Basin, where he studied Criminology and Psychology.

Jeremy began studying the art of American Tae Kwon Do at the young age of 8. He was in and out due to his many medical conditions. He obtained many awards including, State of Texas Champion, Regional Champion, and World Champion 17 times. He loved his ATA family across the world not just Texas, but Africa and Brazil as well.

Jeremy had a love for life….Never Failing. Jeremy's truest loves in his life were his family and friends. His nephews were his life, and he thought the world of them. Jeremy taught people to live every day as it were their last. After Jeremy's dual transplant…HE LIVED!!! Truly living life to the fullest, from camping in Colorado to Santa Fe, NM with his best friend Kris, to sitting on the beach at sunrise…just him and his Bible. Jeremy knew God and has been given the greatest homecoming.

Jeremy loved his Mama, and she will be forever missing a part of her heart now that Jeremy has made his trip home.

Jeremy and his Daddy cherished their every afternoon lunch dates as he got off from work, and his Dad was leaving for work. Dad will forever miss and cherish the talks about Jeremy's love of fixing planes.

Jeremy opened the eyes of so many to music, movies, shows (particularly "Game of Thrones"), and the sheer love of life itself.

We the family, of this kind-hearted soul would like to thank Jeremy's team of Doctor's in San Antonio, and Midland, TX, who diligently were by our side every step of the way of his journey.

Jeremy is preceded in death by his grandfather, Jerry Lynn Phillips; grandmother, (Nanny), Charlotte Lee Bridges; cousin, Cody Lynn Phillips-Morris; and his nephew, Jace Lee Freeman.

Jeremy is survived by his fur babies, Isley (cat) and Bruce a.k.a. Batman (chinchilla); his parents, Larry and Paula Roberts of Odessa; his favorite sister, Brittany Freeman of Odessa; nephews, Jack Kenneth Freeman, Bryson Jae Freeman, and Ryder McCoy Freeman of Odessa; grandparents, Karen Phillips (Maga) of Odessa; aunts and uncles, Chuck and Rhonda Roberts of Odessa, Edward and Jo Stewart of Englewood, Dennis Stewart of Sommerville, Kenneth and Robbie Phillips of Seguin, Reggie and Kelly Phillips of Midland, Sherri and Ricky Davis of Anna, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and a host of amazing friends who made his life full when he was in treatment for years. We love you guys and girls. Kris and Jacob…there are no words to explain.

Pallbearers are: Jacob Parnell, Logan Roberts, Reggie Phillips, Kris Lynn, Andrew Kirby and Mike Marker.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Jack Freeman, Bryson Freeman, Ryder Freeman, Colby Roberts, Landyn Roberts and Charlie Slaton.
