On Friday morning, February 8th, 2013 at 11:45 a.m., Jerry left this life to enter eternal paradise. Surrounded by his wife, Paula, his son Darin, his pastor and family friends at the Hospice House, Jerry lost his short battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed, but we know we shall see him again.
Jerry was born February 14, 1937 to parents Darel Beauchamp and Laura Denny Beauchamp in Marshall, Oklahoma and grew up in Lovell, Oklahoma. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1954 and attended Central State College in Edmond, Oklahoma for three years. Jerry enlisted in the Army and served in the Philippines from 1956 to 1959 at Clark Air Force base as a security radio receiver. Jerry finished his education at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in 1976 with his degree in accounting.
Jerry moved to Odessa in 1964 and met his wife, Paula, in 1969 and they married on April 4, 1974. To quote Jerry, Paula made me the man that I am.
Jerry started his own accounting business in 1976 as Jerry Beauchamp Inc. Previous to opening his own business, he worked as a comptroller for Heldies Portable Pipeline. In addition to his own company, he was currently working parttime for Williams Paving and Excavation as comptroller. Jerry was devoted to his family and he loved his work and clients. He was loved and respected by those who knew him for his caring spirit. In his early years, Jerry tried many things. Most notably, he was in the rodeo circuit as a bare back bronc rider. His hobby was playing golf and he spent many happy moments at the golf course. Jerry was active in his church, serving on the finance committee and missions committee, as well as, anything else that was asked of him. One of his joys was having breakfast with his church buddies every Thursday morning.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father and mother, his sister, Darla Gray, and his son, Lance. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Paula, his son, Darin Wallum, and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and greatgreat nieces and nephews.
