Jerry J.D. Davis, 60, a very loving father and a well respected former member of law enforcement agencies died April 28, 2008. Jerry was born to Lewis and Jayne Davis December 24, 1947, in Stamford, Texas. He served in the army two tours in Vietnam with honors. He served in law enforcement for 20 years and within the last several years, he ran his own business in private investigations. Jerry has been described as a hero, an honorable man, and an icon in law enforcement. He will be deeply missed by those who have been touched by Jerrys presence.
Survivors include Connie Davis of Graham, Texas; Cathy McDonald of Odessa, Texas; his mother Jayne Davis of Clyde, Texas; sisters Linda Davis of Iowa, Rhonda Bradshaw of Odessa, Debbie Lane of Clyde, Texas; his twin brother, Terry Davis of Willow Park, Texas; his brother and sister-in-law Steve and Nyla Davis of Abilene, Texas; honorary brother Raymond Peables of Abilene, Texas; sister and brother-in-law Donna Fisher and Jerry Thompson of Odessa, Texas; daughters Laura Rudasill and Leslie Luhn of Bryan, Texas; Kayla Davis of Odessa, Texas; son Matthew Davis of Odessa, Texas; grandsons, Tyler Rudasill, Josh Rudasill, Hayden Luhn, and Hunter Luhn all of Bryan, Texas and granddaughter Samara Gaton of Odessa, Texas and many many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lewis Davis of Clyde, Texas and Ashley Bailey of Abilene, Texas
Memorial Services with military honors with VFW post 4372 will be held at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1415 North Grandview, in Odessa on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at 2:00 pm.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
