Jerry Dunlap

Jerry Cecil Dunlap, age 82, of Odessa, TX and Georgetown, TX, passed away peacefully January 22, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.

Jerry was born on January 31, 1933 in Bula, TX to Johnnie and Nina Dunlap. He was a proud graduate of Odessa High School and Texas A&M University, where he majored in Business Administration. Jerry was a successful businessman and entrepreneur. He sought adventure in work and in his personal life traveling the world, hunting big game, fishing, sailing, scuba diving, snow skiing and exploring the waters with his treasured friends, the River Rats. Jerry served the community throughout his life with extensive involvement in many charitable organizations including the Odessa Boys and Girls Club and The Village Place.

Jerry is preceded in death by his first wife, Laquita Dunlap, in 1995, and his second wife, Yvonne Thompson Dunlap, in 2011.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Geri and Dale Lynn, Blake and Mary Dunlap and Paula Ann Nunemaker. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Chris Nunemaker, Lauren Lynn and Heather Thompson and his sister and brother, Nino Jo and Jimmy.

A Memorial Service is at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 5, 2016 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1415 N. Grandview, Odessa, TX., with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating. There will be a reception with refreshments after the service from 2:00-4:00 pm at the American Legion Hall in Odessa.
