Jerry Stamps

Jerry Wade (Duke) Stamps, passed away on July 2, 2022 at the age of 76 in Odessa, TX.

Jerry Stamps was born in New Castle, Indiana, on April 26,1946 to Orbery and Carrie Stamps. He moved to Odessa when he was 6 years old. He started working in the oilfield as a roustabout and was pushing a gang when he was 16. He worked in the oilfield his entire career and was a production foreman when he retired.

Jerry was very strong, independent, and outspoken. He enjoyed spending time at the lake, fishing, and woodworking. He was never one to sit idle and he kept busy working on one of his many projects. He loved his family.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Orbery and Carrie Kennedy; son Jerry Stamps, Jr.; daughter Stacy Whalen; granddaughter Latasha Sims; sisters Judy Wells, Phyllis Hinton, Sharon Brinlee and his brother Eddie Stamps.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Margaret Stamps; daughters, Cindy Stamps and Tracy King; sons Greg Stamps, Cory Morris, Mark Stamps and wife Ruby; sister Betty Walker and husband Doyle; 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one on the way.

Pallbearers will be Mikey Hennington, Cory Morris, Mark Stamps, J.C. Stone, Luke Wells and Josh Wells.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
