Jesus (Jesse) Z. Jimenez, 69, went home to be with the Lord on September 10, 2016.
Jesse was born on April 26, 1947 in Candelaria, Texas, to Jose and Drucila Jimenez. He graduated from Midland High School in 1966 and proudly served in the United States Army until 1968. Jesse met and married the love of his life, Berta Ochoa Jimenez in 1970 and together they shared 46 years of blessed matrimony. Jesse, along with his brother, Ray Jimenez, went on to open their own business, Ray's Auto Seat Covers in 1972. Together they built a successful and respected business from which they retired 43 years later. Jesse was an active member of First Baptist Church where he served on the Missions Committee, the Jail Ministry and Brotherhood, as well as being a member of the Gideon Organization. He loved to volunteer for the Christmas Store and Passion Plays at church. Jesse recently served on the Board for the Midland Central Appraisal District. Jesse's love for life was evident in his big smile and loud laugh. He never met a stranger, and loved to talk to everyone. He was an inspiration and a mentor to many. Jesse especially loved spending time with his family, creating special memories for each to treasure. His love for the Lord exuded in his giving personality.
