Jewell Olsen

Jewell Christine Jolly Olsen passed away Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Midland Memorial Hospital. She was born March 27, 1923 in Midland to Willie Ernest and Madgie Ellen Gray Newton. She married John David J.D. Olsen on Many 28, 1939, in Bronte Coke County, Texas. She was the personal manager for G.C. Murphy Company in Odessa for 10 years and as a reservations manager for Holiday Inn Hotel over 15 years in Odessa.

She is survived by her son, John Olsen of Grand Prairie, TX; Her daughters Madgie Williams of Pipe Creek, TX, Connie Stevens and husband Claude Wilson of Ruidoso, NM, June Bennett of Palm Beach Garden, FL, and Jean Brown and husband Larry of Odessa, 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, grandson Michael Stevens, and granddaughter April Brown.

Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tracy McWilliams officiating. Burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
