Jim Frederick was born on Friday, August 22, 1941. He died on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
During those 82+ years, he wore many hats, most often a Resistol. He loved God, going on adventures with his wife of 57 years Nathana, family, friends, and a hard-working life under the sun. In his younger days he worked cattle on ranches across West Texas, teaching his boys to rope, ride, and get up before dawn. He was talented, working with horses, fences and a welding torch, building rodeo arenas, barns, parks, and a lot of structures you see every day around Crane, Odessa, and beyond. Jim was handsome, well-dressed, a great golfer, and funny storyteller in English and Spanish. Like his mother Dossie, he was also generous. His biggest gift was always being there for you. He was funny, sometimes mean, always tough, but never too tough to say he was sorry or that he loved you.
He is loved and missed by his wife Nathana; son J (wife Heidi, daughters Caroline and Carsen Frederick), son Will (wife Christian and daughter Faith Frederick), and many family and friends. His favorite Bible verse was Psalm 23. Rest in peace, Pop. Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home of Odessa.
