Jimmy Allen, Sr.

Jimmy "Shorty" Dale Allen, Sr., 79, of Odessa, passed away on February 13, 2023, in Big Spring, TX.

Jimmy was born on January 8, 1944, in Lockney, TX to Noma Katherene Wash and raised by John Alvin Allen. Jimmy went to Ector High School. Shortly after, he was drafted into the Army from 1965 to 1967 during the Vietnam War as a mechanic.  When he returned, Jimmy worked for Devonian Well Service, W.C. Well Service and retired with B.J. services. He enjoyed fishing with his friends, especially Tip Tipit and Melvin Arnold. Jimmy also loved to build and fly R.C. airplanes. He was a member of The Odessa Prop Busters (P.B.M.A.C.)

Jimmy is preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Renae Allen; brothers, Kenneth Allen, Danny Allen, Terry Allen; sister, Frieda Williams; parents, Katherene and John Allen; grandson Christian Allen; brother-in-law, Joe Williams; and uncle, John Wash.

He is survived by his son, Jimmy Allen Jr. and spouse Amy; daughter, Noma Daniel's; stepdaughter, Jeanna Wheat; sister, Judy Thomas; nieces and nephews, Kim, Jody, Terri Lynn, Laura, John, Daniel, Jessie, Joshua, and Heather; grandkids, Kaleb, Kameron, Keaton, Keaston, Emma, Aaron, and Jarod; and 3 great grandkids.
