Jo O'Keefe

Jo Janet hays O'Keefe, 87, of Odessa, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016 in Odessa.

Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

Jo Janet was born in Breckenridge, TX to Nina Freeman Hays and Fred Benjamin Hays on September 8, 1929. In 1934 she moved to Cheapside, TX and in 1941 moved to Odessa. She graduated from Odessa High in 1947 and went on to attend Odessa College.

She married Thomas F. O'Keefe on September 10, 1949. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in Odessa for many years. Jo Janet enjoyed oil painting, poetry, sewing and traveling.

Jo Janet is preceded in death by her parents Nina Hays and Fred Hays and her husband Tom O'Keefe.

Jo Janet is survived by her son Tom J. O'Keefe.
