JoAnn Orren Scott, age 90, of Odessa, TX, was called to her Heavenly home on Good Friday, April 19, 2019, with her daughter by her side.
JoAnn was born September 6, 1928, in Saltillo, Texas to W.C. and Betty Sue Orren. She attended school in Saltillo and Odessa. She graduated from Odessa High in 1945 and was a life-long Bronco fan.
On December 21, 1946, JoAnn married the love of her life, Lorrin Jack Scott, a WWII veteran. They spent the next 61 years together until his death in 2007. They raised two children, Lorrin Scott, Jr. and Laurie Ann Scott.
JoAnn worked for ECISD and the Ector County Tax Office before becoming a fulltime homemaker. She also worked with the MCH Ladies Auxiliary for numerous years. After Jack's retirement in 1985, they traveled extensively in their motorhome in the U.S. and Canada. They spent many wonderful times fishing and relaxing at their vacation home in Chama, NM, where JoAnn was able to indulge in her favorite activity of reading. They also spent many summers entertaining grandchildren and building endless memories.
JoAnn was a Christian and a member of the Esther/Ruth Class at Belmont Baptist Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed many wonderful times and friendships with these ladies.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Scott; parents, W.C. and Betty Sue Orren; son, Lorrin Scott, Jr; brothers, Kenneth Orren and Ranny Orren; special "double cousin" Mary Nell Orren Heaton; Nephews, Don Orren and Blake Orren; brother in law's, R. Duane Scott and Herbert Scott, Sr.
She is survived by daughter, Laurie Ann Scott; grandchildren, Amy Scott Colwell (Jeff), Ashley Scott Valdez (Joseph), Lorrin Jack Scott III (Shannon) and Amanda Scott; 11 great grandchildren, Sharon, Thomas, Morgan, Madison, Connor, Jackie, Shannon, Annalei, Zerick, Paisley, and Zailee; sister in law, Shirley Baird; nieces, Leslie Scott, Tracy Orren Smith, Kelly Orren Foster and Tami Orren; nephews, Herbert Scott, Jr. and Rusty Orren; cousins, Hugh Orren, Valrie Heaton Pool and Lisa Heaton; special friends, Betty Davis, Lois Bredemeyer and Margaret Hill.
Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM, Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Belmont Baptist Church
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Belmont Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.

Mother was ready to go, knew where she was going and said she enjoyed a wonderful life. We miss you already but are thankful you are now pain free.
