Joe Winford Miller, 75 died peacefully in San Angelo, Texas on January 5, 2010, following a courageous 21 year battle from a stroke with paralysis.

Visitation with the family is scheduled from 68 PM Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel in Odessa, Texas on Friday, January 8, 2010 at 2:00 PM, with Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Joe Winford was born February 24, 1934 in Orient, Texas, Tom Green County to the late Joe D. and Lula A. Miller. He graduated from Snyder High School in Snyder, Texas in 1952. He went to work for the Superior Oil Co, he worked in Quito E.for a time. He worked for Noble Drilling Company for seventeen years, and retired from Cross County, Truck owner, Interstate hauling.

He was an avid outdoorsman and spent his free time boating and fishing with friends and family at Lake Armistad in Del Rio, Texas.

By a previous marriage, he is survived by his son, Wendell Miller and wife Darlene granddaughter, Kinsey Scott and husband of Irving, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann and his stepson Leslie Griffith of Odessa a special stepdaughter, Joann Little of Del Rio, Texas a sister, Darlyne and D.D. PeeWee Poynor of Big Lake, Texas a sisterinlaw, Gynell Miller of Alvin, Texas.

He is also survived by his many neighbors and friends, both local and across the miles. In addition to his parents, Joe Winford was preceded in death by his brother, B.R. Miller.
