John Davisson

John Frederick Davisson, age 44, of Odessa, TX, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 in Odessa.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Monday, February 5, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Byron McWilliams, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

John was born October 5, 1973 to Frederick Lanier Davisson and Glenda Carole Davisson in Ft. Worth, TX. He grew up in Odessa, TX. He graduated from Permian High School and attended Odessa College. He worked at UTPB in the Maintenance Department. He was an active member of First Baptist Church. He asked Jesus to be his savior when he was nine years old.

John's favorite things to do were to go fishing, write prose poetry, paint original artwork and just be with friends and family. He also loved sports, all of his life. He was very much a people person.

John is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Frances Davisson and Vernon and Jean Smith.

He is survived by his parents, Fred and Glenda Davisson; sister, Lisa Davisson; niece, Lexie Davisson; nephew, Jonah Davisson and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Pallbearers will be John Stanfield, Kelly McKay, Jason Smith, Gayle Smith, Jerry Smith, and Regan Smith.

The family of John Davisson would like to extend sincere thanks to the many people who shared our sorrow and comforted us with their kindness, prayers and remembrances of John. We love each one of you.
