John Hogan

John W. Hogan, age 61, of Shamrock, Texas, went home to be with his Lord, Wednesday, September 22, 2010 in Odessa.

John was born January 28, 1949 in Odessa, Texas to Roy W. and Margie L. Hogan. John served his country in military service as a Marine during the Vietnam War.

John was soft spoken and family oriented. He spoke often of his three sons growing up and succeeding in life. He loved his grandchildren very much and was a pushover whenever they were around.

John was married to Xandra for forty years and always said she was a saint for putting up with him all these years. John loved to fish but didnt seem to go as often as he wanted.

John is survived by his wife, Xandra Hogan of Shamrock, Texas three children, Roy of Paris, Texas, James of Shamrock, Texas and Dennis of Australia five grandchildren two sisters, Joyce Davis and husband Danny of Dallas, Texas and Helen Gardner of Houston, Texas two brothers, Cliff Hogan and wife Diane and David Hogan and wife Anna, all of Odessa numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Pierce officiating.

The family requests memorials be directed to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.
