At age 80, John Earl Holdridge went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on October 28, 2018 at his home in Odessa, TX, after an extended illness.
John was born October 24, 1938 in DeLeon, TX, to Ernest John and Nancy Flora Holdridge. John was a longtime member of Odessa Chuckwagon Gang, International Charolais Association, and the International and West Texas Safari Clubs.
In 1962, he founded Odessa Babbitt Bearing Company in Odessa, TX. He also was the owner and operator of OBBCO Ranch in DeLeon, TX.
John was an avid big-game hunter, international traveler and life-long Dallas Cowboys fan. He loved God and his family above all else. He was very generous with his family and friends and supported many ministries around the world.
John is survived by his wife, Selene Holdridge, of Odessa; his children, Ray Holdridge, of Odessa, Kellie Baker and her husband, Clarke, of DeLeon, Diane Pass and her husband, Hulen, of Ft. Stockton. Lorie Koonce and her husband, Brad, of DeLeon, TX, Julie Stupp of Odessa, Natalie Foy and husband, William of Odessa, Justin Holdridge of Odessa and Alexa Holdridge, of Odessa; his grandchildren, Michael Davidson, Jr., Derek Koonce, Cliff Holdridge, Chase Holdridge, Jonathan Davidson, Matt Holdridge, Morgan Anderson, Paige Genovese, Zachary Holdridge, Daria Baker, Demitra Baker, Elizabeth Stupp, and Maygan Holdridge; his great grandchildren, Grace, Elijah, Anna Ruth, Hope and Mason; siblings, Joann Smith of Odessa, Roy and Maxine Holdridge of Odessa, Dottie and Clemons Lemke of Stafford, VA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Nancy Holdridge; siblings, Rob Holdridge, Mickie Patton, and his daughter, Michelle Anderson.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at First Assembly of God Church at 1101 N. Lee St., Odessa, TX with Jimmy Dennis of Agape Ministries officiating.
Graveside Services will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Oliver Springs Cemetery in DeLeon, TX and will be officiated by his grandson, Cliff Holdridge of Tahoka, TX.
