John M. Molina, 74, of Odessa, Texas passed away on March 31, 2021 in Odessa, Texas.
John Molina was born in McCamey, Texas to Jose and Pomposa Molina on September 24, 1946. He went to school in McCamey, Texas, where he won State Championship in Cross Country. John graduated from McCamey High School and attended San Angelo State for two years. Then he graduated from UTEP at El Paso, Texas with a degree in Civil Engineering. John worked for the Texas Highway Department for four years, and afterwards, he worked for Gulf Oil from 1974 – 1982.
In 1982 John and his brother, Jose Molina started Great Basin Petroleum Service, where he was the president of the company until his death. He loved his company and working for it. John also loved to travel and enjoyed being at his ranch. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #3203 and was instrumental to starting St. Mary’s Casino nights. John assisted the organization’s development of St. Mary’s Adoration Chapel. He was one of the brothers of Knights of Columbus who started the Weekly Rosary on Fridays. John was a dedicated businessman, a philanthropist, and a devout Catholic. Most of all, he was a wonderful father and husband.
John is preceded in death by his father and mother, Jose and Pomposa Molina.
John is survived by his wife, Delma Molina; his children, Stefan, Lucas, Sara, and Adela Molina; sister, Mary Lawson; brothers, Joe and wife Estella Molina, Henry and wife Francis Molina, and Jaime Molina. John is also survived by the mother of his four children, Lupe Garcia.
Rosary will be at 6:00 PM, Monday, April 5, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 Am, Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church with Bishop Joe Vasquez, Father Bernardito Getigan, and Father Santiago Udayar officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Manuel Aguirre, Mario Ramos, Roland Lopez, Jose Leon Granado, Rudy Montez, Dion Lechuga, Jesus Gomez, and Albert Gonzales.
